The Opening examines mob/herd mentality, asking, How do intense relationships alter our perception of reality and impact our ability to make rational decisions? What happens to our individuality when we are under the influence of some pervasive yet desirable force? This embodied inquiry represents the allure of the communal tidal wave and the subsequently alchemical process that ultimately changes us. Further, the work seeks to bring understanding to our most elusive and often damaging impulses, in order to cultivate compassion for the shadow aspects of ourselves.

β€œThe second meaning of kairos traces to the art of weaving. There it is "the critical time" when the weaver must draw the yarn through a gap that momentarily opens in the warp of the cloth being woven. Putting the two meanings together, one might understand kairos to refer to a passing instant when an opening appears which must be driven through with force if success is to be achieved.”
